Who said this quote: “If you slap an Englishman hard enough, he will speak normal English”?
Question by Bullwinkle J. Moose, esquire: Who said this quote: “If you slap an Englishman hard enough, he will speak normal English”?
Something like that. Who can tell me the correct quote and who said it?
Thanks!
I remembered who said it, it was Samuel Clements who wrote under the name Mark Twain. But I can not remember the full or accurate quote.

LOL! You just made it up!
The correct one would be something like, “If you slap an Englishman hard enough, he would still keep a stiff upper lip!”
Now, doesn’t that sound Normal???
I always heard that if you wake up an englishman in the middle of the night —–
I don’t know the quote but I have never heard of that before.
I do however know they used to do that to women when they were out of control crying and hollering. If you watch old TV shows, you will see.
The woman starts getting hysterical and some guy slaps her in the face to calm her down. They don’t do that anymore for some reason LOL
Nope never heard that before.. Poor Englishman..Nope i think he will talk like he usually does.. and i love to hear those English talk..Love the accent.
