How do I prevent getting a tan in summer?
Question by . ǝʞɐןɟ-uɹoʞ .: How do I prevent getting a tan in summer?
I’m half Asian and tan really easy.
I hate being tan because people think I’m mexican when I am.
I’m not Mexican or any other form of Hispanic/Spanish.
I’ve decided to wear long sleeve shirts in summer and a wide brimmed hat but it looks really weird.
Before this immigration issue became and issue I didn’t care.
Now if I look Mexican people are more likely to treat me with a more shi**y attitude I’ve noticed.
During winter people think I’m Asian, Asian/White, and sometimes plain White. In summer I suddenly become Mexican. And in a few rare cases middle eastern >:/ Oh and sometimes Filipino which is technically Asian but I’m half Korean not Fili.
So other than wearing long sleeves “which REALLY sucks living in SOUTHERN FLORIDA”.
And Sunblock which get expensive putting it on every day I go outside.
What else can I do?
I’ve ordered some anti-UV sleeves from Korea on Ebay because “mostly the women” don’t like getting tan over there but for other reasons. So I’m assuming here no one is going to know that it’s a “girl” thing to wear UV sleeves because normal men don’t care. And again I normally don’t care until people treat me like crap and try to explain things slowly as if I don’t speak English …… “I was BORN here and speak it better than most of these ignorant ingrate A-holes here. And the occasional person coming up speaking Spanish to me.
I swear I don’t even look Mexican. Well I don’t think I look Mexican anyways.

I’m 19, White/Asian
What do I look like to you?
Keeping in mind this is a winter pic so I’m not that tan.
So do I really look Mexican???
Google image Mexicans and then look at me and do I really look Mexican.
Also I have nothing against Mexicans I just hate people calling/sometimes TELLING me what I am not.
…You mean mustache? … T_T
Btw if it makes any different my Whites ancestors are Italian, Finnish, and Hungarian.

wearing clothes that cover your skin, even if they’re thin, wearing a big hat so that your face is in the shadows, and wearing a lot of sun screen.
Know better? Leave your own answer in the comments!
Use sunscreen all year. Stay out of sun from 11 AM to 3.30 PM when the UVA and UVB rays are at there strongest. Your bound to get some sun unless you live in doors all the time but that hard to do i guess. Lot of luck
can you please shave that beard? It makes you look creepy and unattractive no offense.
Yes you do look Mexican. I would suggest you wearing 100 SPF sunblockor wearing caps. And mustaches do tend to make people look like Mexicans. (no offense) You could also try Asian hairstyles.
Some features for Asian faces:
Eye brows are usually NOT close to the eyes. They are very high up
Noses are usually very round, maybe wide, maybe narrow, but they’re round.
Faces are ovally or rounded at the bottom.
Anyways, I hope I helped!
Oh and I don’t think you should be really concerned with the way you look. Look on all the positive sides instead of the negatives.
I looked at your picture, and yes, u do seem to appear of spanish decent of some sort! However, the mustache didn’t help……I’d recommend shaving that, and then, dress preppy style…aka, Abercrombie and Fitch…….most men who wear clothes like nice jeans, polo shirts, and leather boots appear “American” styled. However, you need to focus on loving yourself for who you are, and stop worrying about what other assume automatically, because they will never stop being ignorant and stereotypical!!! That’s just the way of the world hun. Calmly reply in spanish, “no hablo espanol”….then ask them if they speak chinese? The point is, have fun with what bothers you, and just flip it around. You can always get the last laugh that way, plus it may help someone think differently the next time they go to do that! I do apologize for admitting you look a certain ethnicity…….but you did ask for the truth . And I want you to know that my style advice and shaving comment is just a suggestion for you, since you want to appear a certain way. I would normally say to just concentrate on loving how you look, embracing your own style, and being proud of who u r in general……..screw what people think. That statement comes with age, and it took me until I was about 30 to really just love my looks for what they were! In time you will grow up and look back at this problem and see that it was so silly to even question it. You are a handsome young man, and well educated too! You will get far in life being a good person with smarts……the people that try to get by on looks alone develop extreme insecurity issues when they age, It’s all they have to cling onto and then they can’t handle the aging process…………in worst case scenarios superficial people who aged end up numbing feelings with alcohol and drugs to off-set hating the way they look and it becomes a snowball effect of being vein to begin with…….it’s just negative. Think about it!
